Friends may call at the funeral home between 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Charles Teppert was born in Oshkosh on November 16, 1932 and raised on the farm north of Oshkosh. Also known to family and friends as “Bub,” he was always there to help his parents, siblings and children as everyone grew up. He started his work along with brother Bill at the Oshkosh sale barn, trading horses, and he worked on sand hill ranches, neighbors farms and for the local Chevy dealer. Chevys were his life long favorite and if you didn’t have one too, he would wonder why. Charles married Pearl Brown in the early 50s, living in the Dalton area and working at the Sioux Depot, and began his family, Rob, Ron, Sharon, Linda, Randy and Kris. After moving to Colorado he began his very successful business career with gas stations at Ft. Morgan and Greeley. Charles won many awards for excellence in services from vendors and oil companies. Many hours were put in working and making every effort to direct, love and raise his children, sometimes maybe not always having the time to spend with them, as he wanted to. He then ventured into the hog/cattle feeding business on a small farm at LaSalle, with brother Richard, sister Marilyn, and his family, which he really enjoyed and always talked about. In 1983, Pearl passed away from a long illness, leaving the family on their own. Charles then decided to buy a place and move to southern Missouri, which was near his sister Shirley, and start a cattle operation. Charles and Imogene were married in the late 80s in Missouri, adding to his family Imogene’s four sons, after moving there to start anew, once again with cattle. Charles and Imogene liked their cows! The heat and humidity of Missouri convinced Charles and Imogene to move back to Colorado and shortly after, to Wyoming where they lived for a few years. Then as retirement approached they moved to McGrew, to enjoy some camping, fishing, gardening and their dog “Buddy.” He also was able to spend more time with his brothers Larry and Bill and sister Doris. Charles always enjoyed and looked forward to visits from his sisters and their families from Colorado, Missouri and Wyoming, as well as brothers and all of his children and their families. All through life Charles enjoyed traveling and went on several long trips around the country, like the Carolinas, California, the north and southwest and enjoyed Arizona with Imogene and her parents. At home he also tried to keep George Bush and Obama lined out as well as the McGrew board. Politics always kept his blood pressure going! His health began to fail and Imogene then retired and worked very hard at taking care of him in the finest way anyone could have done. In the last few months Imogene had a lot of help also from son Randy and his wife Linda. Charles passed away in Imogene’s arms, January 13, 2012, leaving behind Imogene, his family, sisters, brothers, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which he adored. Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl, grandparents, parents Cliff and Edith, and brother Bill.
