His graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Bayard Cemetery in Bayard, Nebraska with military honors rendered by the Nebraska Army National Guard. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-7 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor’s choice. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
Clarence was born on March 10, 1929 in Sidney, Nebraska to George and Katherine Betz. He entered the U.S. Army on July 9, 1951 and served during the Korea Conflict. He was honorably discharged June 25, 1953. He married Eleanor Jean Becking on September 25, 1955 in Scottsbluff. They made their home on a farm near Bayard, where Clarence farmed. They moved to Gering in 2005.
He was a member of the American Legion for 42 years.
Clarence is survived by two sisters, one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, parents, one brother and two sisters.
