

Daniel D. Daggett, 80 of Gering, Nebraska died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Golden Living Center. His memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 10:30 at West Way Christian Church with Pastor Willie Coop officiating. Cremation has taken place. Military honors will be provided by the Nebraska National Guard. He was born on September 9, 1928 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Orien and Edna Mae (Gourley) Daggett and received his early education at the Haig School and graduated from Scottsbluff High School. Daniel entered to U.S. Army on December 6, 1950, serving during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on September 6, 1952. He farmed in the valley. He married Joyce Ann Batz on January 29, 1982 in Torrington, Wyoming and made their home in Gering. He was a member of the VFW. He loved to do woodworking, fishing when he had time and having coffee with friends. He also enjoyed telling jokes. Dan was part of building the Church of Byrant and was a longtime member of the Church of Bryant and West Way Christian Church. Survivors include his wife Joyce; sons, Larry Daggett, Bob Daggett and Jerry Daggett; daughter, Barbara Zeller; stepchildren, Chris Fields, Vickie Bymer, Patty Aue, Leona Blaylock and Terry Gilman; foster daughter, Sandra Woodruff; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister Harriet (Ed) Klor and brother, Ted (Mona) Daggett. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Golden Living Center and Prairie Haven Hospice for taking great care to Dan.
