Delores Dee Hampton

Delores “Dee” Hampton, 70, of Mitchell, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Mitchell Berean Church with Pastor Scott Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until noon Thursday. Dee was born May 24, 1938 in Denver, CO to Robert and Ruby (House) Higgins. She moved with her family to the Sandhills of Nebraska. She married Chester Hampton April 18, 1970 in Bridgeport, NE. They lived in McGrew and Terrytown before moving to Mitchell in 1974. Dee was a resident supervisor for the Office of Mental Retardation until ill health forced her to retire. She loved to square dance and spending time with her children and family. She is survived by her husband Chet, sons: Carlie (Peggy Jo) Hampton, Lakewood, CO, and Rodney (Dixie) Hampton, Mitchell, NE, daughters: Marla (Charles) Weber, Cozad, NE and Brenda (Randy) Hoff, Mitchell, NE, stepson: Fred Hampton, Alliance, NE, brothers: Clifford Higgins, Alliance, Ne, Robert Higgins, Guernsey, WY and Henry Russell, North Platte, NE, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Raymond and Dawain.
