Delores Mae Molko, 74, of Gering, was called to Heaven early on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Emerald Court in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Delores was born on October 22, 1931 to Herman and Martha (Marker) Weiss. She grew up in Minatare, Nebraska. On August 20, 1950, she married Edward J. Molko. They first lived in Minatare, then moved to Mitchell for several years. After another few years in Minatare and north of Scottsbluff, they moved to Gering Valley in 1966, where they farmed until retirement in 1981. They finished their life together in the city of Gering. Her favorite hobby was her garden. She was joyful at the sight of first spring flowers, tulips, daffodils, bleeding hearts and peonies. She was anxious when summer storms threatened both crops and garden. She was so excited to receive the Golden Spade Award for her garden in Gering. She was involved in Homemaker’s clubs in both Minatare and Gering. Her favorite meetings revolved around gardening. She collected and shared flowers with family and friends. The other favorites in her life were her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them and had a portrait gallery of them in her home. She used to say to them “because I’m the Mom, that’s why” whenever she was asked for and gave guidance. She was proud of all of them and attended as many of their ball games, graduations, birthday parties, plays, weddings and other events as she could. She liked to visit with her family and friends. After moving to town she and Ed traveled to see the Grand Canyon and California. There were trips to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Yet her favorite place to visit was the Rocky Mountains. She found peace there with the wind whispering through the pines and spruces. And she was always on the lookout of a pretty flower. After Ed’s passing in October 2003, Delores became a resident of Emerald Court in Scottsbluff. From the day she entered there she wondered when she could go home to be with Ed and her family that had passed. She has that answer now. We who remain are so happy she is there and at permanent peace, but she will be missed more than words can express. She is survived by her children Dennis E. (Luci) Molko and stepdaughters, Kim (Mike) Megale and Michelle (Mike) Jerome all of Meridan, ID; Colleen Engelke, Lancaster, WI and daughter Linda E. (Steve) Miller of Fennimore, WI; Timothy A. (Cindy) Molko and sons Michael of Rochester, MN and Matthew of Minneapolis, MN; Susan J. (Dr. Richard) Simmons and son Cullen B. Weber of Scottsbluff and daughter Jordan D. Weber of Breckenridge, CO.; John D. (Lois) Molko and children Jacob and Emily of Gering; Marilee (Jerry) Treadwell of Odessa, TX and daughter Sara E. (Adam) Nightengale of Aurora, CO. She is also survived by her sister Marian (Dale) Achziger of Worland, WY and her brother Dwayne (Kathy) of Scottsbluff and many nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward J. Molko; her parents Herman and Martha Weiss.
