Delores Schledewitz

Celebration of life will be at 10:00 am, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel, 3201 Ave B, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, 69361. The family requests that guests honor Delores by wearing colorful clothes to the service.

She was born May 16, 1933, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to loving parents John and Emma (Roehrich) Michal. She received her early education from Bayard, Nebraska.

She married the love of her life, Reuben Schledewitz, on January 20,1952, in Bayard. In 1955, they moved to Huntley, Wyoming. They returned to Morrill County in 1967. In 1988, they moved to Scottsbluff. In 2006, they resided at Heritage Estates, until Reuben's passing in 2008.

She believed in God first, then family. When she wasn’t taking care of the home, she would be found reading her bible, attending church, and gardening.

Her family became dedicated farmers over the years. She would help with all the hard work required in farming. This included being deep in the fields to hoe beats and beans alongside her family. She could also drive the trucks for harvest and haul corn silage. She wasn’t afraid to take a chicken from the coop to prepare it for dinner. She was a great German cook and a wonderful mom.

She was also known for cheering on her Huskers during football season.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Debbie) Schledewitz, Mitchell, Larry (Patricia Genoways) Schledewitz, Broadwater; Jerry Schledewitz, Scottsbluff; grandchildren Andrew (Amy) Schledewitz, Teresa (Greg) Ross, Dustin (Erin) Schledewitz, Kelsey (James) Miller; great grandchildren Elijah, Evangeline, Matthias, Finley, Lexi, Caden, Decker Schledewitz, Preston, Livie, and Harper Miller.

She is preceded by her parents and her spouse, her brothers John (Alma) Michal and Melvin (Betty) Michal.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to Delores's sisters-in-law, Doris and Darline for their time and support to Delores during the last years of her life!
