The gentle, joyous spirit of Dolores Maralyn Willet, loving and devoted wife, mother and friend, has gone on to her heavenly reward, having completed this earthly journey on December 29, 2007, at the age of 82. Dolores, known to friends as ""De"", was born on October 22, 1925, to Wood L. and Florence L. (Zimmerman) Blunk of Lincoln, Nebraska. Dolores grew up in Lincoln, graduating from Lincoln High in 1944, and attending the University of Nebraska before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Darrel Willet, in 1949. Darrel and Dolores knew a love which would endure for the next 55 years. Dolores was an active member of the Berean Bible Church of Scottsbluff for more than three decades and drew great strength from her faith. She relished the roles she played in the lives of others, first as a Cub Scout den mother and later as a teacher's aide at Lincoln Elementary School in Gering. After her retirement, she sought to help others by learning Spanish and volunteering to tutor any and all who wanted to learn to speak English. Her compassion, warmth, and sweet, gentle spirit will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched. Dolores is survived by her son Woody and wife Terry of Scottsbluff, daughter DeAnn and husband Rick Richter of Fort Collins, Colorado, son Monty of Carrollton, Texas, and son Phillip of Dallas, Texas; and her grandchildren, Jacqui Velocci of Tottenham, Ontario, Amy Parker of Kenesaw and Luke and Michelle Richter and Nicole Hahn of Fort Collins, Colorado; great grandchildren Cecilia and Liam Parker of Kenesaw; and sister Betty Frisby of Ocala, Florida. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Wendy Suzanne Willet, and husband Darrel Merle Willet.
