

Donald F. Wagner, of Scottsbluff, died at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Father Don Buhrman officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with military honors provided by the Nebraska National Guard. Friends may visit at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Wednesday. A rosary will be at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home. Donald was born to Roy E. and Grace (McLoughlin) Wagner in Tilden, Nebraska. He graduated from Tilden High School. Donald entered the U.S. Navy, serving in the European and Pacific Theatres on the LST 943 and LST 370 and was honorably discharged. He was employed with the Nebraska Public Power District for 40 years, serving in Norfolk, Tilden, Loup City, Beatrice, and Scottsbluff, retiring as Regional Operations Manager. Donald married Mary Rita Burns. Don was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Parish, life member of the VFW, American Legion and the Elks and a member of the North Platte Valley Railroad Club. Survivors include his wife Mary Rita (Burns) Wagner; daughter Shannon (Charles) Slagle of Overland Park, Kansas and son Kevin (Nancy) Wagner of Scottsbluff; two grandchildren Lisa (Scott) Heeke of Shawnee, Kansas and Michael Wagner of Scottsbluff; sister Margaret (Don) Christiansen of Neligh, NE.; brother Maurice (Barbara) Wagner of Oakdale, NE, sisters-in-law Verona Wagner of Tilden, NE. and Lois Wagner of Norfolk, NE. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Roy E. Wagner, Jr. and Richard Wagner.
