

Memorial services for Edna F. Cook, 67, of Scottsbluff, NE who died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 will be Saturday, April 17, 2010 at The Rock Church in Scottsbluff with Alan Webb officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mitchell City Cemetery. Edna was born June 12, 1942 in Bridgeport, NE to Harvey Franklin and Bennie Ann (Barentine) Webb. She grew up in the Nebraska Panhandle and was a graduate of Scottsbluff High School. On July 26, 1971, she married Leonard R. Cook, Sr., in Scottsbluff. She lived in Scottsbluff until October of 2009, after being diagnosed with lung cancer and went to live near her sons, for four months in Olpe, Kansas and two months in Lindsborg, Kansas. Throughout her life of various employment, she dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a member of the Scottsbluff Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary; helped coach her sons’ baseball teams; loved her roses, flowers and her dogs, Scooter, Scamper, and Fizz; and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth J. Webb, Olpe, Kansas, and Alan D. Webb, Lindsborg, Kansas; a step-son Leonard R. Cook, Jr., Omaha, NE; step-daughter Rebecca A Romick, Gering, NE; three brothers Harold Webb, Morrill, NE, Utah Webb, Torrington, WY and Eldon Webb, Festus, MO; four grandchildren Amanda Webb, Shayla Webb, Tagan Webb, and Kyler Webb; eight step-grandchildren Derek Vaughn, Kelsey Vaughn, Leslie Creek, Gene Wills, Jeremy Cook, Chad Cowdery, Trevor Hinze, and Cody Hinze; eight great-step-grandchildren and many adopted grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard R. Cook, Sr. in 1985; her brothers, William H., John F., Albert, Dennis, and James Webb; her sisters, Millie Freed, Dorothy Miller, Gladys Schwartzkopf, and Ollie Rector; and a stepdaughter Brenda Jo Wills.
