

Elinor (Elly) Marie Tilton, 79, of Scottsbluff, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. A funeral service will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church at 743 Wintercreek Drive, Scottsbluff at 10:00 on Friday July 17, 2015 with Pastor Cindy Bowker officiating. There will be no viewing. A private burial will take place ahead of the service at East Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are the donor’s choice. Elinor did love music and animals so Violin Sprouts (a fine arts program teaching children music at a young age) or Panhandle Humane Society could be considered. Elinor (Elly) Marie Tilton was born June 15, 1936 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Slagle. Her family moved to Burley, Idaho where she graduated from high school and learned to play the cello. Her gift of music allowed her to play in the Boise Symphony. Elinor’s joys in life were her love of Jesus and her children Craig and Sue Gullixson. Later in life she met her second husband Everette Tilton and they became inseparable, lifelong companions. Due to declining health, Elinor had lived many years at Golden Living Center. The Golden Living Center staff and residents have been her close friends and family. Elinor’s faith and kind spirit have positively impacted all who have known her including her children, and nieces/nephews.
Elinor is survived by her son Craig Gullixson of Sunspot, New Mexico, step-son Wayne (Tami) Tilton of Anaconda, Montana, sister-in-law Opal Diffendaffer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elinor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everette, her daughter Susan Gullixson, her brothers-in-law/sister-in-law Harold and Twila Tilton and Eldon Diffendaffer, and her step-mother Helen Slagle.
