Eric William Young

Eric William “Cowboy” Young, 42, of Bayard, passed away at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff on Monday, August 2, 2010, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He flew home peacefully with the angels. His memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Eliseo De Los Santos officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established for Eric’s children and family. Eric was born June 17, 1968, in Torrance, California to Margie S. Young and Stephen D. Dietrich. He attended Gering High School and WNCC. He married Amanda Kay Lisenbee on December 15, 1998, it was one of the happiest days of his life. Eric was a simple man with a simple plan to love life and live it to the fullest and be the best husband and daddy he could be. And that he was. Eric worked with special needs children and Eric and Mandee’s home were home to many kids. Eric was the kind of person that had a heart of gold and was always a soft place to land. Eric is very loved and will be missed immensely by everyone who knew and loved him. Eric is survived by the love of his life and wife, Amanda “Mandee” Kay Young; sons, Jesse Logan Young of Mitchell, and Jarin Alan Jacobs of Gering; special sons, Carlos and Justin of Bayard; daughters, Alyssa Marie Duncan of Gering, Jaylynn Amanda Young, Jayleigh ValAnn Young, and Jaysa Sarah Rose Young; special daughters, Meaghan, Zoey, and Makayla of Bayard; father, Stephen D. and wife Katherine K. Dietrich of Cheyenne, Wyoming; mother, Margie S. Young of Burrton, Kansas; sister, Tracy L. and husband Chad D. Golladay of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers, Mark S. Dietrich of Gilbert, Arizona, and Trevor D. Dietrich of Cheyenne, Wyoming; mothers-in-law, Valerie Pieper of Bayard, Pat Dietrich Palser of Scottsbluff, and Florence Martin of Torrington, Wyoming; nephews, Jacob C. Golladay of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Gavin S. Dietrich and Venjamin S. Dietrich of Gilbert Arizona, Zane Lisenbee and Montez Lisenbee of Kennewick, Washington; nieces, Hannah L. Golladay, Kaycee L. Golladay, and Bridgette L. Golladay of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kelsey K. Dietrich of Gilbert, Arizona, Aubrei Ruiz of Cottonwood, Arizona, Tessa A. Smedley of Phoenix, Arizona, and Sharleen Lisenbee Kennewick, Washington; along with lots of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leroy Dietrich, William Young, and William Taylor; and grandmother, Sarah Taylor.
