

Esther ""Bonnie"" Bennett passed from this life on November 21, 2015, at Golden Living Community in Scottsbluff, surrounded by family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Bonnie was born to George and Katie Gross on December 3, 1925, in Scottsbluff. She attended Scottsbluff Public Schools and married Donald L. Bennett of Angora on November 24, 1946. The newlyweds moved to Vancouver, Washington, where they both worked for Swift and Company. They returned to Scottsbluff in 1951, where they rejoined many family members.
Bonnie was employed as cafeteria manager at Bryant Elementary School for twelve years, and for sixteen years as receiving agent at one of the weigh stations owned by Great Western Sugar Company. Beginning in 1974, she was a member of BPOE Does drove #21, and it was there that she began her thirty-one years of organizing and playing in pinochle groups with many friends. Over the years, she enjoyed sewing for many friends and family members, and made many, many quilts. She enjoyed gathering with friends and family members and preparing her ""special"" authentic German recipes.
Survivors include daughter, Diana Bennett (Tom Champion) of Portland, Oregon, sons, Daryle (Rhonda) of Brighton, Colorado, and Randy (Linda) of Scottsbluff, grandchildren Carrie Habrich of Portland, Oregon, Josh Habrich (Jill) of Portland, Oregon, Camden (Lorraine) Bennett of Pine Valley, California, Riley (Shaunna) Bennett of Pinedale, Wyoming, Laurel (Paulas) Panday, of Pokhara, Nepal, Jason (Jennifer) Carney of Tampa, Florida, and Treagan Bennett of Raleigh, NC, nine great grandchildren, and sisters Wilma Zalesky of San Jose, California, and Pat Aldrich of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, infant daughter, parents, brother Bob Gross, sister Irene Mackrill, and several half brothers and sisters.
Cremation has taken place, and internment will be at Fairview Cemetary. A memorial service will be held at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff at ten o'clock AM on Saturday, November 28, 2015.
