

Gregory ""Greg"" Allen Muhr, 54, of Gering, passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with ALS on Monday, November 28, 2016. At his request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The Rock Church with Pastor Tyson Lambertson officiating. Friends may stop at Dugan-Kramer Chapel from 9 AM to 4 PM on Friday to sign Greg’s register book and drop off condolences for the family. Greg was born March 22, 1962 in Bridgeport, Nebraska, the oldest child to Jerry D. and Carolyn M. (Robinson) Muhr. He attended school at Bayard, graduating with the Class of 1980. Greg was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Brenda Castellaw on July 25th, 1981 in Bayard. The couple has made their home in the Valley all their married lives where they raised their two sons. Greg started his career in the auto body business, eventually opening and growing his own family shop, Greg's Autobody & Paint, alongside his wife and sons. Greg worked hard to build a successful business to leave to his boys, and he loved to play hard too. He enjoyed traveling the world, his favorite vacation spots being Cozumel, Cabo and Alaska, where he loved scuba diving and fishing. Greg loved spending his summers at his cabin at Lake McConaughy making memories with his friends, family, and grandkids. Greg's grandchildren were his pride and joy, he always looked forward to spending time with them, watching them play ball, taking them fishing, and playing at the lake.
Greg is survived by his wife Brenda; sons and daughters-in-law Andy and Tiffany Muhr and Dusty and Jen Muhr; grandchildren Calista, Ella, Lucas, Taylor, and Jackson; parents Jerry and Carolyn Muhr; sisters Debbie (Rick) Reeves and Becki (Ted) Ramsey; brother Mike (Vicky) Muhr; sister-in-law Susan Castellaw (Jason Schanaman); brothers-in-law Ken (Leica) Castellaw and Dean Castellaw; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Greg was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Sidney and Beverley Castellaw.
He will be dearly missed.
