

Helen Lucille Mauler, 91, of Mitchell died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2007 at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with Pastor Brad Gustafson officiating. Helen was born May 10, 1916 to Merlin and Edna (Moore) Adams in a sod house by upper Lake Alice north of Scottsbluff. She attended the Lake Alice schools, the Scottsbluff High School graduating in 1933. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Education from Chadron State College in 1971. She taught in the valley for nearly forty years. Helen married Glen C. Mauler in 1941. They lived in Los Angeles during WW II. They then bought a farm north of Mitchell, NE where she resided until his death in 1975. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Scottsbluff and was active in the Women’s Circle and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Scottsbluff Area Retired Teachers Association and the Nebraska State Retired Teachers Association. Helen had been a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and had donated over 2000 hours of service. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Tom and Donie Maurler of Mitchell, NE, daughter: Judith Hansen Gallimore of Arvada, WY; Grandchildren: Brian (Mandy) Mauler, Pleasanton, CA, Amy (Levi) Hadley, Jackson, MO, Neil Mauler, Jackson, MO, Mark (Erin) Hansen, Arvada, WY and Justin Hansen of Arvada, WY and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Norman and sisters Treva Strait and Dorothy Burden.
