She was born on February 11, 1936, on a farm near Greeley, Colo. to Henry and Pauline (Lackman) Brunner. Iline was the family gatherer, hosting a July picnic – and many others – so family could meet, and Thanksgiving, Christmas and other meals whenever family were in town. She taught three generations how to make fudge, popcorn balls and decorated sugar cookies. Iline enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and dominoes and volunteering at the hospital gift shop. Her dogs and cats, especially Taffy, were the four-legged loves of her life. She met friends wherever she went, had a lively social life and enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She brightened every room she entered.
She was raised by her parents on farms in the Mitchell Valley, educated at Haig School and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1954. She graduated from West Nebraska General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 and became a Registered Nurse. Iline was an obstetrics nurse at West Nebraska General Hospital, a physician’s office nurse for Dr. Jacob “Jake” Krieg, a home health nurse, a Scottsbluff school nurse, an industrial nurse at Lockwood Corporation, and finally a dietary nurse with the Office of the Aging in Scottsbluff when she retired. After retirement she partnered with her cousin, Ruth Meisner, and opened a consignment store in Gering.
Iline married Robert Meisner in 1956, and they lived in Scottsbluff before moving to Gering in 1960. They were charter members of Faith Lutheran Church in Gering. They both loved to travel and kept busy during their retirement years, spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Iline moved to Scottsbluff in 2007 after Robert passed away, but she continued to live life to the fullest with her many collecting hobbies and traveling. She moved to The Village at Regional West in 2022.
Iline is survived by her son, Roland Meisner and his wife Sue of Alexandria, Va.; daughter, Annette (Meisner) Reichert and her husband Dave of Mitchell; granddaughter Hannah Beth (Meisner) Stith and her husband Joram of Pittsburgh, Penn.; grandsons Nathan Reichert of Edgewater, Colo., Jordan Reichert of Mitchell, and Ethan Reichert and his wife Ashley and their children of Gering; sister Gin Schlager of Mitchell, and many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and infant sister, Betty JoAnn.
Her family sincerely wishes to thank the staff at The Village for all their loving care and especially Dr. Brittany Eirich for her thoughtful and compassionate medical care during her years at The Village, and also to Dr. Blane Alost for her final care at Regional West Medical Center.
