

Inez Blanche Frank, 86, of Gering, went to be with the Lord after a long-term illness on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 . Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Scottsbluff with Jonathan Hoesch officiating. Burial will be held the following Monday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Bethel Baptist Church. Inez was born to the late Gerald and Ina Vernon, July 16, 1929, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She graduated from Scottsbluff High school in 1948 and was employed at Porter’s dress shop and Woolworth department store in Scottsbluff. She married Leroy Donald Frank in 1949, and they spent the majority of their married life in Scottsbluff, before relocating to Gering in 2005.
Inez spent the first half of her adult life rearing her 3 children, staying active in their school activities and events, and provided afterschool care for family and friends. During the second half of her adult life she served as part-time bookkeeper for her husband’s farm implement business, was very involved in gardening and home canning, and enjoyed the many pleasures afforded by her grand children and great grand children.
Inez was an active member, pianist, organist and choir member for many years at Bethel Baptist Church in Scottsbluff. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, reading, gardening, Christmas shopping and watching Western movies on television. Her family will always look forward to the time they will rejoin both her and her late husband, Leroy, in heaven.
Inez is survived by; daughters Melody(Doug) Leafgreen, of Gering and Yvette Frank of Kansas City, son Carter (Lorraine) Frank of Brandywine, MD. Grandchildren Toby (Robin) Leafgreen, Nicole (Jonathan) Hoesch, Christopher Novacek, Desiree (Danny) Mapes, Ryan (Emily) Frank, Kevin ( Allison) Frank, Joshua (Amber) Novacek, Kelsey Frank, and 15 great grandchildren. A special mention for her niece, Toni Spencer, who lived with her for a time and for whom she became a second mother.
Preceeding her in death are her husband, her parents, and her two brothers, Jim (Shirley) Vernon and Lloyd (Barb) Vernon.
Special thanks to caregivers Leonor Jimenez, Jamie Scott, Jessica Scott, Brooke Scott, Ruth Miller, Theresa Anderson, Janice Williams, Kristi Hopkins and Lacey Fleenor, the spectacular staff at Heritage Estates and Prairie Haven Hospice.
