Jacob married Connie Walter on April 12, 1980, in Scottsbluff, where they made their home together. A devoted Christian, Jacob lived his faith with quiet grace, offering kindness freely and meeting others with a generous spirit.
For more than 45 years, Jacob worked as a contractor in the valley, known for his strong work ethic and the dependable care he brought to every day’s labor. He was also a member of the Platte Valley Pool League. Away from work, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was never one to turn away from someone in need—always ready to lend a hand, and often giving far more than was asked.
Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law Dora and Robert Maw; his sister Frances Ellwanger; and his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; his son, Jonathan (Kristin); his daughter, Mary Sasse; two grandchildren, Keaton and Jordyn Sasse; numerous nieces and nephews; and three grand dogs. Also survived by 3 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law.
Jacob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured time with his family and loved sharing stories with anyone who would listen. He will be missed dearly.
There are no planned services. At his request, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date. Fond memories, photos and stories may be left on Jacob's webpage for family to view www.dugankramer.com.
Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
