OBITUARY
James "Jim" Allen Spurgeon
July 19, 1947 – November 13, 2018
James A. Spurgeon, 71, of Scottsbluff, went to join his wife within the presence of the Lord on November 13, 2018.
James Allen Spurgeon was born July 19, 1947, in Scottsbluff. His parents were John and Stella Spurgeon. He attended and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1965 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. Jim married Mattie Caddell on June 24, 1966. From this union, two children were born, Michelle Lynn and Darin Scott. These two children provided Mattie and Jim with seven grandkids that they both truly love and enjoy.
Jim loved sports of all kinds, both playing and watching. Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing baseball in his youth. He could always be found in his favorite recliner when there was a Huskers or Broncos game on TV (he was the King of DVR). He also enjoyed watching golf, basketball and baseball. He instantly became a Rockies fan when the team was established in Colorado.

ADD A MEMORYHal Teague
November 18, 2018
My wife Nancy and I extend our condolences to family and friends on Jim's passing and rejoice in knowing he truly is at Home! A good friend, we kept in contact over the years after high school and college. A particularly fond memory from high school is Jim and I being a part of the "22ndrs", a group appropriately named because after dragging Broadway, we'd all end up parking our cars on west 22nd for chit-chatting and scheming. How quickly the years have passed by since those innocent, care-free days!
Rest in peace my friend.
Hal and Nancy
