James Frank Vega

James Frank Vega, 59, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Cheyenne. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. A private family graveside will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with military honors by the United States Navy. Jim was born July 25, 1952 in Scottsbluff to Joe and Edna (Martinez) Vega. He received his education in Scottsbluff and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1972. He entered the U.S. Navy February 15, 1974 and was discharged February 15, 1977. He returned to Scottsbluff after his honorable discharge from the Navy. Jim loved to travel the open road, especially on his motorcycle. Music was a large part of his life. He was an avid drummer and played in several local bands; most well known “The Drivin’ Dynamics”. Jim was a craftsman who loved working with his hands and his tools. Above all, his pride and joy was his family especially his two daughters. He is survived by his daughters: Jillee Vega and Jessica Vega of Cheyenne, WY; parents Joe and Edna Vega of Scottsbluff, sister: Josie Orozco, Scottsbluff, NE and brothers: Jack (Lisa) Vega of Georgetown, TX and Jerry (Diane) Vega of Houston, TX.
