

Jane Nation, 77, of Gering, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at her home. Her funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Ron Thomke officiating. Interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery at Minatare. Friends may visit from 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. A memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Jane was born June 2, 1932, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Thomas and Lucille (DeLashmutt) Flynn. She grew up in Scottsbluff and graduated from the Scottsbluff High School in 1950. She received her teaching certificate in Scottsbluff and taught rural school in Banner County and later in Sioux County. On November 5, 1955, she married Lloyd Nation at Harrisburg. They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for two years before moving to Colorado for a short time. They then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where they raised their family. In 1980, they moved to the family farm in Sioux County and in March of 2007 they moved to Gering. Jane professed to serve God in 1945 at the age of thirteen. She enjoyed reading and collecting dolls. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Nation; children, Mike (Paula) Nation of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jill Eich of Westminster, Colorado and Dan (Melinda) Nation of West Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren, Jason, Joe, Amber, Amy, Ashley, Chris, Aaron, Ashli and Connor; great-granddaughter, Sierra; sister, Patricia Rasmussen of Thornton, Colorado; brothers-in-law, Bob Nation of Scottsbluff and Ray Nation of Gering; and sister-in-law, Sue (Vern) Gullikson of Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Colleen Nation; sister, Beth Nation; brother-in-law, Richard Rasumssen.
