

Jean Ellen Van Noy, 87, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, August 22, at Heritage Health Care Center in Gering. Cremation has been held at the Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Following a private family interment, her memorial service will be Friday, September 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Scottsbluff with the Reverend Brad Gustafson officiating. Jean Ellen was born October 5, 1918, to Ernest C. and Lillian Marie (Hedstrom) Leafgreen in Minatare, NE. She received her early education at Minatare Public Schools, graduating in 1936, and later attending Chadron State College. She married Lowell F. Van Noy in 1939 in Harrisburg, NE and to this union three children were born. She most recently worked for First State Bank in Scottsbluff, retiring after 17 years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Scottsbluff. She was an avid Nebraska football fan and enjoyed games and activities with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Jean Ellen is survived by: son Stephen Van Noy of Kearney, NE; daughter and son-in-law Julie K. and Steve Cain of Grand Island, NE, son and daughter-in-law: W. Scott and Debbie Van Noy of Scottsbluff, NE; brother and sister-in-law: Roger and Nora Leafgreen of Gering, NE; grandchildren: Stacy (Rod) Ingersoll of Scottsbluff; Steve (Shannon) Van Noy of Kearney, NE, Jeff Cain of Chicago, IL, Sarah (Dan) Williams of Ann Arbor, MI, Meghan (Garret) Clark of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Jill Van Noy, Denver, CO, Jacob Van Noy, Lincoln, NE , Julie Van Noy of Lincoln, NE and 5 great grandchildren. Her parents, an infant brother, and her dear sister Evelyn Imes preceded her in death.
