

Juan S. Molina, 85, of Minatare passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Burial Mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 19, 2015 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Gering with Father Jonathan Sorensen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday with a Vigil Service at 7 pm at Christ The King Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be given to the family at Platte Valley Bank. Juan was born November 2, 1929 in Lerdo Durango, Mexico to Santos and Virginia (Sanchez) Molina. He worked as a farm laborer as a young man. He was united in marriage to Aurelia Cardenas on May 10, 1950 in Mexico. The couple came to the United States, settling in the Edinburg, Texas area. They would work as migrant farm laborers from Texas to Nebraska each year.
They moved to Lyman, NE in 1957 and lived there until the early 1960’s when they moved to the rural Scottsbluff area. In 1970, they moved to Minatare where they made their home and raised their children. Aurelia died on April 11, 1981.
Juan met Rosa Salazar and she married into the family in 1991 at Scottsbluff. The couple made their home in Minatare blending together their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Juan was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was a good provider for his family, was a stern believer in education, and enjoyed gardening. Juan was a good and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was set in his ways as many of his children and grandchildren are. He was outspoken and to the point. He was generous and hard working. His ultimate wish was for his family to love each other. His wish will be fulfilled unconditionally.
Juan is survived by his wife Rosa of Minatare; children Maria (Alfred) Magdaleno of Minatare, Juan, Jr. (Elizabeth) Molina of Gering, Pedro (Gwynne) Molina of Aurora, CO, Virginia Garcia of Lexington, Reynaldo (Marilyn) Molina of Gering, Sylvia (James) Macias of Lexington, Ricardo (Elisa) Molina of Lexington, Maria (Enrique) Facio of Great Bend, KS, Flora (Johnny) Guiterrez of Amarillo, TX, Minerva (Scott) Vohland of Minatare, Manuel Salazar of Minatare, Steve Salazar of Denver, CO, Emilio Salazar of Minatare, and Jamie Salazar of Scottsbluff; 100 + grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and especially the Carlos Rojas Family of Scottsbluff.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Aurelia Molina; daughter Socorro Molina; brothers and sisters.
