Karen Marie Pageler, 55, of Gering, was taken home by our Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff after a long series of illnesses. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Gail Madson officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. All contributions will be given to the Guillain-Barré Foundation in memory of Karen. Karen was born in Omaha. She attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a degree in Political Science and French. Karen and Denny met in Omaha and were joined in marriage in 1977. Nicole was born in 1984. They moved to Denver area in 1986. In 2005, Karen and Denny moved to Scottsbluff/Gering area. For the past three years, Karen was a beacon of light for all who knew her. Karen was employed as a part time bookkeeper for The Brown Sheep Company. Now at peace, Karen is survived by devoted husband, Dennis Pageler; and loving daughter, Nicole Pageler. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Robert Nicol; and mother, Betty Nicol.
