

Kathi Elaine (Nicodemus) Fraedrich was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on May 17, 2025. She was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on November 6, 1948, and was raised in rural Alliance. She was the youngest of five children and the baby of the family.
She was born just before the blizzard of ’49, and they air dropped milk for her as a baby when no one could get to town.
On December 24, 1966, she married Bob Fraedrich and after his discharge from the Army, they made their life together in Western Nebraska. They were blessed to welcome Vernon Jay Fraedrich in 1968, and a younger daughter Christina Kay in 1973.
One of Kathi’s greatest joys was found in her horses. She was a member of the Saddle Club Liberty Bells throughout the 70’s and traveled around the country to perform horseback precision drills. She was very involved in many youth activities involving horses and her kids.
Later, she became one of the founding members of the Prairie Driving Club. She created many lasting memories with everyone involved.
She was a member of Spring Creek Church in Mitchell and was involved in ladies’ groups, bible studies and other activities there.
She is survived by son Vernon (Lori) of Camp Humphreys, Korea, and grandsons Tyler and Cody of Tonganoxie Kansas. Sister Barbara of Harrisburg and brother Larry of Minatare.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, daughter Chris, brother Sonny and sister Maryanne.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Spring Creek Church in Mitchell with internment at Mitchell Valley Cemetery to follow.
