

A Celebration of Life for Kathy Ann Walker, age 74, of Gering NE who entered Heaven on July 19, 2026, at Regional West Medical Center will be held on July 24, 2026 at 10:00am at Dugan Kramer Funeral Home with Brad Staman officiating, her wishes were to be cremated, therefore, the family will have a private burial at a different time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s honor to Festival of Hope. Festival of Hope was born in 2003 and she was one of the founders of this wonderful organization. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
She was born February 11, 1952 in Scottsbluff, NE to Wesley & Mary (Hudson) Netherland. She was the 3rd of 4 children. She attended Gering Public Schools and Western Nebraska Community College.
She married Dale Walker on August 8, 1969 in Denver, CO, and made their home in Gering, NE.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church Gering, Gering JR. Fire Patrol, Gering Girls Softball Association, several bowling leagues, and of course Festival of Hope. During her career she co-owned Ted’s Paint & Decorating, and was a tax pro at H&R Block for over 20 years. She was involved in every aspect of everything she participated in. Her greatest enjoyment for the last 35 years was caring for & nurturing (spoiling) her 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She attended all of her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities and never missed a game. She loved cheering on her beloved Cornhusker Volleyball & Football. No one left Grandma Kathy’s house hungry!
Survivors are husband Dale of 57 years, daughters Crystal Walker and Tina (Chet) Keller; 4 Grandchildren Hailee (Zeb) Frauendienst, Ty Wilson, Morgan (Hunter) Staman, Skylier (Anais) Ward; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Jaxen Wilson, Bransen Staman, Beckett Wilson, Jace Frauendienst, Haizley Staman and Banks Wilson; Brothers, Gary & Larry Netherland; Sister-In-Laws Barb Netherland, Norma (Jim) Olston, Frankie Davis and Dotti Gerber; numerous nephews & nieces and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by parents Wesley & Mary Netherland and sister Jean Rummel.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Regional West Medical Center ICU/PCU.
Casual or Cornhusker attire is welcome at the celebration.
