

His funeral will be Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Westway Christian Church with Pastor Willie Coop officiating.
Kenneth was born March 22, 1931, in Fresno, California and married Lorraine DeWitt Feb. 9, 1957, in Lancaster, California, and unto this union four children were born: Gary, Paul, Cynthia, and Kenneth.
Kenneth loved the ocean and spent some time deep-sea fishing in the Pacific Ocean. He got to see the only flight of Howard Hugh’s “Spruce Goose” and loved to tell his grandkids about it. He began his career as a firefighter at Lockheed Aircraft in Palmdale, California. He moved to Scottsbluff in 1966, where he became a firefighter at the Scottsbluff department. He advanced to fire chief in 1982 and retired in 1988.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of Scottsbluff; sister Lorraine Langdon, of California; children, Gary (Virginia) Carter, Lincoln; Paul Carter, Washington Terrace, Utah; Cynthia (Randy) Kreiling, Minatare; Kenneth Carter, Warrensburg, Missouri; and grandchildren, Allison (Bradley) Andersen, Lincoln; Keith Kreiling, Lincoln; and Macie Carter, Washington Terrace, Utah.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Hazel Carter and three brothers, Lester, Troy and Allen Carter.
