His funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 24 from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Calvary Lutheran Church. Kenneth Lemoyne Shriver was born on March15, 1935 in a little farmhouse during a dust storm in Hastings, Nebraska to Isola (Bierman) and Donald Shriver.
He graduated from Hastings High School at age 17. During this time, he went to work for Sherman Service Center/International Harvester Dealership. After working on setting up machinery and working in the parts department he became a salesman. Kenny was a salesman until he died. His present employer was Titan Machinery/Case International Dealership. He was a top salesman many times throughout his career. He took pride in his work and the fact that he had been working in this career for 74 years.
Kenny married Alice Mewhirter on June 19, 1954, in Hastings, Nebraska. They had two children, Carol Sue and David Lemoyne who passed away as infants. The couple then adopted an infant boy, Douglas Shriver, who also passed away in 2004. After adopting Doug, they had Fred and Mike. Finally in 1966, they adopted a little girl, Shelley. They raised their family in the area until 1996.
In 1996, Ken and Alice moved to Scottsbluff. He was 61 at that time and joked that he was just getting started when most people were thinking about retirement. He said to be a great salesman you have to make a friend and be a friend. Kenny had many friends in this area.
Kenny lost the love of his life, Alice, on July 19, 2020. He loved spending time with his family. At 90, he even took a cruise to Alaska with some of his family!
Faith was important to Kenny. He always attended church, prayed for everyone, and made sure his family was brought up in the faith. During Alice’s career as a parish pastor, Kenny was right by her side helping her in any way he could. He loved his Lord and his church family.
Kenneth is survived by his siblings, Larry Shriver, Marvin (Judy) Shriver, Dianne (Dave) Auckerman, Gaylord (Debra) Shriver; his children Fred (Teresa) Shriver, Michael (Laura) Shriver and Shelley Goodrich; grandchildren Carianne Shriver, Rebecca Shriver and Kathryn (James) Ernst, Joel (Rachel) Shriver, Alexander (Anna) Shriver, Jordan (Aislinn) Goodrich, Adrian Zephier; great grandchildren Lawrence (Hailey Smith) White, Kherington White, Alivia and Isla Ernst, Avery, Jack and Harper Shriver, Alex and Andrew Jochem, Joe Prokop, Rylee and Lucas Goodrich; great great grandchild Colter White.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Isola Shriver, sister Donna Mae Robinson, wife Alice Shriver, children Carol, David and Douglas and grandson Tyler Goodrich.
