Lila Arlene (Lemley) Sherrerd

Lila Arlene (Lemley) Sherrerd, 78, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Kimball Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Childrens Shriner’s Hospital. Lila Arlene Lemley Sherrerd was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on February 13, 1931 to George and Delilah Arlene “Connie” (Congrove) Lemley. Lila was the oldest of three: her sister, the late Phillis Lemley Lapthisophon of Houston, TX and her brother Norman Lemley of Arlington, VA. She married the late Dr. Robert S. Sherrerd and settled in Kimball, NE. to raise three children: Paul, Scott, and Linda. She moved to Scottsbluff after Bob's death in 1976 and lived there until her passing on June 9, 2009. Lila's family was the dearest thing in her life: her sons, Paul S. and wife, Mary Lou Sherrerd and their children, Adam and Ann all of Omaha and Scott N. Sherrerd of Scottsbluff and his son, Kristopher of Longmont, CO. her daughter, Linda Beth Borges of Scottsbluff. Her late sister, Phillis and Sam Lapthisophon of Houston, TX and their son Stephen and his wife Erica of Dallas, TX. Her brother, Norman and wife, Laura Lemley of Arlington, VA. and their daughters, Amy of Charlottesville, VA and Jane and husband, Kurt Rasmussen of Falls Church, VA and their children, Jack and Kate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents, and sister, Phillis Lapthisophon.
