Lola Romey

Lola Romey, 90, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Golden Living Center-Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Loren Spellman and Edwina Carlson officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. A memorial has been established to Camp Scott for Diabetic Children. Lola was born February 15, 1919 in Mitchell, NE to Ira and Mabel Frances (Frailey) Watson. She received her education at Pleasant Valley School in Sioux County, NE. She married Robert Romey August 29, 1940 in Gering, NE. She and Robert farmed and Lola was a part time cook at Victory Hill School for several years. They spent twenty-three years wintering in Arizona. Lola loved gardening, camping, fishing and her grandchildren. She and Bob participated in the Fun Run for Special Olympics with the Good Sam Club. She is survived by her daughters: Delta Fisher, Scottsbluff, NE, and Evelyn (Larry) Rahmig, Shelley, ID; daughter-in-law: Linda (Marvin) Fulk, Scottsbluff, NE; sister: LaVern Mundale, Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters: Patty (Jack) Pittman, Morrill, NE, Brenda (Rory) Smith, Scottsbluff, NE, Sheryl (Jeff) Cozad, Fort Collins, CO; grandsons: Stacey Fisher, Mitchell, NE, Trevor Romey, Oregon, Kip (Michelle) Rahmig, Soda Springs, ID, Corey (Jeanette) Fisher, Mitchell, NE, Troy (Terri Matthews) Romey, Scottsbluff, NE and Tyler (Amber) Romey, Douglas, WY; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard, great grandson Jordan Cozad, and son-in-law Joe Fisher.
