Luis G. DeLuna, 93, passed away peacefully at his home on October 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a life rooted in faith, hard work, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family. Though he lived a simple life, the impact he made on those around him was immeasurable.
For over 70 beautiful years, Luis shared his life with his beloved wife, Clara DeLuna. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family. His greatest ambition was never to seek riches or recognition, but simply to provide for the people he loved. Through his dedication and hard work, he did just that.
Luis spent 24 years working as a crop farmer before dedicating another 23 years of his life to working at Lockwood, where he remained until his retirement. He took pride in working hard for everything he had and in providing a good life for his family. His life was a testament to the value of an honest day's work and the quiet dignity of a man who fulfilled his responsibilities with love and devotion.
Above all else, Luis treasured his family. Some of his proudest moments were watching his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow and reach important milestones in their lives. From graduations and baptisms to weddings and other precious family moments, their accomplishments and happiness brought him immeasurable joy. Being surrounded by his loved ones was one of life's greatest blessings to him, and his family was the heart of everything he did.
Luis was one of the kindest men anyone could have known. He didn't need a grand lifestyle or material possessions to find happiness. He found joy in life's simple pleasures: building things with his hands, fishing, taking car rides, attending church, enjoying nature, and looking for deer. He loved a good burger and settling in to watch his favorite Westerns and cowboy movies. He also held a special place in his heart for his beloved wife, Clara, and his precious cat, Kitty Kitty.
Luis' life was guided by his faith in God. He held tightly to his beliefs and lived in a way that reflected the goodness in his heart. His hope was that others would learn from his example—to be kind, to love one another, to cherish family, and to hold firmly to their faith. He showed those around him that a meaningful life is not measured by how much one owns, but by how much love one gives and how faithfully one lives. Luis was a faithful member of the Iglesia Casa de Milagros (House of Miracles Church).
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of over 70 years, Clara DeLuna; his loving daughter, Christina Campos; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Luis was preceded in death by his three beloved daughters, Amalia Gutierrez, Alicia Castaneda, and Irene Atuna; his brother, Manual DeLuna; and other cherished family members and loved ones.
His family finds comfort in the faith he held so dearly and in the hope that he has been reunited with his beloved daughters, brother, and loved ones in the loving arms of the Lord he faithfully served.
Luis's life was simple, his heart was generous, his faith was strong, and his love for his family was endless. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
