

Mabel J. Vorse-White, 105, of Scottsbluff, departed this world for her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Heritage Health Care in Gering. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Jim Green officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Mabel was born May 18, 1900 in Ashland, NE to Charles Elmer Harris and Maggie Jardine where she also attended school. She married Clyde Vorse on Aug. 14, 1917 in Saunders Co, and made their home in Scottsbluff. She later married Fred White on July 29, 1968 and the couple lived in Boise, ID and Spokane, WA. She moved back to Scottsbluff after the death of Fred, living with her daughter Shirley until she went to Heritage Health Care in June 2004 after breaking her hip. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and had many friends during her lifetime and never forgot anyone. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughters Shirley Purnell and Delores Swift of Scottsbluff, and Charlotte Ginther of La Verne, CA; step-children, Kathy White of Wenetche, WA, Duane (Helen) White and family of Bayard, Eunice Gaston and Doris (Dan) Mors all of Spokane, WA, many step-grandchildren, 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 76 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde Vorse, husband Fred White, son Alden “Red” Vorse; four sisters, one brother, two daughters-in-law, four sons-in-law, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
