

Funeral services for Marcus Jay Chrisman, age 65, of Gering, Nebraska, who passed on April 6, 2026, at home, will be held Friday April 10th at 2:00 PM, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home located at 3201 Ave. B, Scottsbluff, NE 69361, with Pastor Richard Chrisman officiating, burial will be at Creighton Valley Cemetery. The family is requesting casual dress.
He was born September 2, 1960 in Kimball, Nebraska to Norval Ray (Pat) Chrisman and Faye Una Zimmerman. He received his education and graduated from Melbeta Public School in 1979. He married Rebbeca Rose Sample on December 31, 1981 in Scottsbluff, Ne and made their home in Gering, Ne.
Mark grew up on the family farm, where he developed a lifelong reputation for hard work, punctuality, and a gift for creative problem-solving. During his school years, he stayed active in Melbeta by participating in football, basketball, and track.
At twenty, Mark met the love of his life, Rebecca Sample. This led to a long and dedicated career working alongside his father-in-law, Ray Sample. After Ray's retirement, Mark started his company, Mark Chrisman Trucking, in 1998. He continued to run and grow his company for the next 28 years.
Mark was happiest outdoors and cherished time at the lake with his family and friends. Whether he was windsurfing, fishing, or camping, he found great joy in being on the water. A man of many practical skills, he was always tinkering and fixing things. In his downtime, Mark was also an aspiring pawn star who never missed the chance to find a hidden treasure at a local garage sale or pawn shop. He will be remembered for his resourceful spirit and his devotion to those he loved.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Becky Chrisman, His Sons Ryan (Liz) Chrisman, Taylor (Taylor) Chrisman, Grandchildren Taryn, Zach, Andy, Emma, Felix, and Braxton. His siblings Mike Chrisman, Lill Butts, Richard (Christine) Chrisman, Bert (Jeanette) Chrisman, Susie Chrisman, Chris (Thess) Chrisman, Mother-in-law JoAnne Sample and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Faye Chrisman, Father-in-law Ray Sample, Nephew Austin Rahmig and sister-in-law Janice Chrisman.
