

Marion F. Driver, 63, of Minatare died Thursday, April 27, 2006 at his home. His memorial service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dwight Sandoz officiating. At Marion’s request, he was cremated. Military honors will be provided by the Nebraska National Guard. Following the service the family would like to invite everyone to the Oregon Trail Park for food and refreshments. He was born June 1, 1942, in the Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the third of four children born to Charles Andrew Driver and Pearl Grace Sanford, currently of Abilene, Texas. Marion was raised and spent most of his life in the Gering Valley. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1969, including tours of duty in Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. After leaving the service, he spent time in the trucking industry and doing auto body work. Most recently, and up until the onset of his illness, he was employed by Americo. On April 7, 1978, Marion and Linda Lee Varley (Brown) were married in Torrington, Wyoming. Marion is survived by his wife, Linda, and his children: son Mike Endicott of Minatare, NE; daughter Donna Varley of Minatare, NE; daughter Tina Brethour and her husband Dale of Hereford, TX; son Andrew Driver of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter Susan Hoffman of Chandler, MN; son Kenneth Driver of San Diego, CA; son Marion Driver and his wife Scarlet of Melbeta, NE. He is survived by his mother Pearl Driver of Abilene, TX; sister Grace Green of Worcester, MA; brother Russell Driver of Garnerville, NY; and sister Elaine Wegner of Abilene, TX. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, three sons and a great grandson. Marion was a dedicated and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed spending quality time with family in the outdoors and everyday activities. He also enjoyed collecting old cars and restoring them. Marion was loved by many and will be missed by all those left to carry on the memory of his caring spirit.
