

“Marshal” Jim Kinney, 65, of Scottsbluff, passed from this earth on January 3, 2007, at Regional West Medical Center. His memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 8, 2007, at Cleansing Flame Worship Center, 1030 O Street, Gering. He was cremated according to his wishes at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory, Scottsbluff.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugan-kramer.com Jim was born March 9, 1941, in Scottsbluff to Ted and Iva (Elwood) Kinney of Minatare. On January 28, 1962, he married Mary Helen McKnight. They resided in Scottsbluff. He disability retired from Western Sugar. After retirement, he was marshal of the 1880’s Town in South Dakota from 1997 until 2004. He “shot” many an outlaw or tourist.He enjoyed having coffee with his life long friend, Harold Johnson, “road trips” with his friend, Paul Reisig, and the holiday season at Hickory Farms. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary Helen; sons, Martin (Robin) Kinney of Gering; Robert (Bobbie) Kinney of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Krystal, Joshua, Christopher, Noah, Madison and Katie; brothers, Arvene Kinney of Lincoln, George of West Virginia, Ernie of San Antonio; and sister, June of Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lyle; and an infant sister.
