Myrna Kay Golden

Myrna was born on December 09, 1936, in Lusk, Wyoming, to Emerson and Alma (Hitz) Himes. She attended Niobrara County High School in Lusk, Wyoming, graduating in 1955. Myrna was raised on a ranch, where she assisted with day-to-day tasks of the ranch life.

After graduating from high school, she went on to find the love of her life, Robert Golden. The two dated for just a month, before they were married on October 27, 1957. To this union, two children were born, VaLarry and Robert Golden. The family moved around a lot in the early years, but they eventually found themselves settled in Scottsbluff.

Myrna was a hardworking woman, holding various positions consisting of Bookkeeper at Gering National Bank, a clerk at Herbergers and the Thursday Night Auction which she never failed to mention just how much she loved that job.

There is no doubt that Myrna was a hard worker, but she never missed an opportunity to take the dance floor, spend time with her grandson, Austin, or immerse herself country music. When it came to country music, Alan Jackson was notably one of Myrna’s favorites. Aside from dancing and country music, Myrna was a big fan of going out to eat and rarely turned down an invite to enjoy a good meal with her favorite people which include her Tuesday outings with Austin her grandson.

Myrna is survived by her daughter, VaLarry Buskirk of Scottsbluff; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and JoAnn Golden of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Chelsea Buskirk, Austin Richardson, Heather, Jordan and Veronica Golden, Tyler, Jazmine, Kaden and Bethany Golden, Ellie Mauer (Chris Gamino), Lillian Golden (Keagan Shifflett), Kalleigh and Kallen Golden; great -grandchildren, Grace Rexus, Freya Briggs, Blakelyn, Ronnie-Brynn and Blair Golden, Marcella and Camila Verdugo, Liam Hiatt, LainLee Shifflett, and Braxtyn and Justin Golden; sister-in-law; Patricia Himes, of Lusk Wyoming; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Alma Himes; husband, Robert Golden; brother, Milton Himes; granddaughter, Meghan Golden; and her beloved fur babies, Sable and Gabby.

Funeral Services for Myrna will be held at the Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.

Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel is overseeing Myrna’s care and funeral arrangements.
