

Myrtha Fix, age 85, of Scottsbluff, died November 15, 2015 at the Residency in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. A visitation will be from 1-7 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Myrtha was born on August 29, 1930 to Frank and Alice (Phipps) Prewitt at Hyannis, Nebraska and moved with her family to Amelia, Nebraska. She lived there until she was married. On November 24, 1947, Myrtha was united in marriage to Gale L. Fix at Ainsworth, Nebraska. To this union five children were born, Shelia, Gaylen, Larry, Roger, and Daniel. In 1950, they moved to Scottsbluff, where they made their home. She went on to become a nurse’s aide for 10 years at St. Mary’s Hospital in Scottsbluff. After that, she provided foster care for 15 years in her home in Scottsbluff.
Myrtha loved her birds and NASCAR. She enjoyed yardwork and taking care of the farm animals. She was a member of the V.F.W.
Myrtha is survived by her children, Shelia (Buzz) Larreau, Gaylen (Sharon) Fix, Larry (Tanya) Fix, and Roger Fix all of Scottsbluff, three sisters, Peggy Dixson of Omaha, Janice Kennedy of Riverside, Cal., and Sharon Jane Kling of Scottsbluff, sisters-in-law Sharon La’Ree Prewitt of North Platte, Leone Slaymaker of Atkinson, and Marion Lovitt of Huntley, Wyo., 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gale, son Danny, parents, brothers Dean and Lynn Prewitt and granddaughter Shannon Le’Ree Fix.
