

Patricia An Ostendorf, 60, of Gering, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Cremation will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Inurnment will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2009, in Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Patricia was born April 18, 1949, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Fred and Esther (Arndt) Grommet. She graduated from the Minatare High School in 1966. She attended Adorn Beauty School and became a licensed cosmetologist in Nebraska and Wyoming. She worked at the Candy Stripe as a cosmetologist and in a law office prior to her marriage. On August 16, 1971, she married Dale L. Ostendorf. As a child she was involved in 4-H. As a cosmetologist she enjoyed working with elderly people and those with long hair. She also enjoyed cooking, flowers, crocheting, raising her son, driving her LeMANS (Pat’s Car), playing pool and playing the organ, dancing and listening to music. She was a kid at heart, she loved stuffed animals. She was working on a cook book to compile recipes of her favorites; she had rock gardens outside and houseplants inside; her favorite TV shows were the news and judge/court TV; and she loved going to pool tournaments and talking with people around her. Survivors include her husband, Dale L. Ostendorf; son, Anthony L. Ostendorf of Gering; grandson, Alex L. Ostendorf of Scottsbluff; mother, Esther Grommet of Minatare; siblings, Rick (Linda) Grommet of Omaha, Peg (Gene) Reynolds of Fort Lupton, Colorado, Tom (Joan) Grommet of Spokane, Washington; Shirley (Gordon) Kling of Scottsbluff and Ginger (Vince) Ruggiano of Beaverton, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Audette Ostendorf; brother-in-law, Dennis (Conni) Ostendorf; and sister-in-law, DeeDe (Eddie) Sinner. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Grommet.
