Patricia Ann Smith

Patricia Ann Smith, age 79, of Scottsbluff, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Don Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mitchell Valley Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. A memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Patricia was born June 10, 1930, at Chadron, Nebraska to Raymond and Elsie (Palmer) Hess. She graduated from Sioux County High School. On July 15, 1949, she married Frank A. Smith, at Harrison, Nebraska. They moved to the Scottsbluff-Gering area in 1960. She was a member of the Carter Canyon Project Club, Rebecca Winters Genealogy Society and was a volunteer at Regional West Medical Center for many years. Survivors include her sons, Jim (Mary) Smith of Gering and Ron (Deb) Smith of Melbeta; grandchildren, Scott (Lori) Smith of Mitchell, Clark (Melissa) Smith of Rapid City, South Dakota, Rahchelle (Ryan) Schaner of El Paso, Texas, Chad (Heidi) Smith of Morrill, Nebraska, Ryan (Jessica) Smith of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Shannon (Tim) Blomenkamp of Mitchell and Staff Sergeant Brian (Michelle) Bartholomew of Jacksonville, North Carolina; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Opal Hanley of Harrison, Nebraska, Maxine (Jay) Hackleman of Torrington, Wyoming and Pauline (Henry ) Logar of Douglas, Wyoming. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Kenneth, and twin infant sisters.
