

Ralph Edwin Anderson, 89, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, at the Residence Care Center in Scottsbluff. His memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2008, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Gail Madson officiating. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to Calvary Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice. Ralph was born April 1, 1919, at Kimball, Nebraska to Carl August and Rose Wilhelmina (Johnson) Anderson. As a child they moved to Banner County where they operated the family farm. On October 5, 1940, Ralph married Imogene Gulick in Scottsbluff. They had a son, David Ralph Anderson on December 29, 1943. Ralph farmed and ranched until his retirement when he moved to the Residency on February 5, 1993. Ralph loved farming and working with cattle. He also had many other interests. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed traveling. Ralph and Imogene traveled to every state except Alaska. They spent many winters in Texas. Ralph held many church and county offices. Above all Ralph was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Imogene; daughter-in-law, Judy Anderson of Banner County; grandchildren, Michael, Heidi and Olivia Anderson of Banner County and Mark, Tiffani, Meighan, Kiersten and Trevor Anderson of Kimball; and sister, Ella Mae Cederburg of Kimball. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; and brother, Alden.
