Robert George Henrick

Robert George Henrick, 87 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Regional West Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastors Delbert and Shirley Daire officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors by the Nebraska National Guard. Visitation will be Thursday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel. Robert was born on May 26, 1920 in Ault, Colorado to John and Christina Henrick. He received his education in Scottsbluff. He worked for the Scottsbluff School system as a groundskeeper then entered the U.S. Navy on August 3, 1942 and served during WWII. He was a Fire Controlman on the Submarine USS Haddock. He was honorably discharged on October 12, 1945. He married Edna Horst on December 25, 1947 in Colorado. He worked for Swifts Packing Company in the 1950’s as an electrician. Later he owned and operated Henrick’s Electric from the late 1950’s retiring in 1975. He married Betty Bay in March of 1971. He lived in Harrison, NE. from 1977 to 1996, and then Torrington, WY. He has resided at the West Nebraska Veterans home since 2005. He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion; a member of the WWII Sub Vets of Wyoming and Nebraska and was past chaplain of the Nebraska Chapter and was a member of the Eagles in Crawford. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, the outdoors and woodworking. Robert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Marjorie and Dave Soule of Harrisburg; granddaughters Tracy (Clint) Burnet of Bennett, CO and Amber (Mike) Bailey of LaVista, NE; great granddaughter Heidi Burnet; step grandchildren Katrina Frey, Sherry Croser, Bob Cobb and several other step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother William Henrick of Show Low, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Mike Daire, John Henrick, Dick Henrick and Harold Henrick; sisters Margaret Keil, Anna Keil, Lydia Weitzel and Elizabeth Hayes; and his first and second wives.
