Roy Raymond Dugan

Roy was born on February 27, 1950, in Scottsbluff and lived with his parents Richard L. and Luetta M. Dugan on a small farm north of Bayard near his Grandparents (Lisle F. Dugan) farm until they moved to Morrill in 1954, where his maternal Grandparents (Clarence W. and Alma D. Craig) lived. Roy attended Morrill Public Schools from Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Roy had many good times with friends and classmates in Morril and wished he could have graduated with them, but his family moved to Gering in 1964 where he graduated from Gering High School in 1968 with new friends and classmates. Roy graduated from Western Nebraska Community College in 1970. He then attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, until starting his working career as Assistant Plant Engineer for Lockwood Corporation in Gering in 1971. Roy worked in various departments and management positions at Lockwood; including Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Quality Assurance Manager and Purchasing Manager until 1996. Through the growth years of Lockwood, Roy was instrumental in many major facility additions and equipment updates including new Tire Shop, Irrigation Pipe Manufacturing and Welding, Galvanizing Plant, New Warehouse, New Assembly, and major additions to Machine Shop, Fabrication, etc. Acquisition and relocation of the Perfection Cobey Truck Body line to Gering brough a new dimension to Lockwood including Military Spec. Manufacturing, materials and quality control and inspection requirements.

Roy left Lockwood Corp. after 24 years of service and began working for Aulick Leasing Corp. in 1996 where he helped Aulick grow from a Trucking Company with 24 trucks and 40 employees to over 120 trucks and over seasonally over 400 employees in five states (NE, WY, SD, CO, and MT). Aulick acquired Aulick’s TLC division with landscaping and greenhouse lines and added The SPA to become a major business. In 2012, Aulick acquired the Beall Bullet Trailer Manufacturing Facility in Sunnyside, Washington, as new ShirAul Division. In 2013, Aulick’s HVS Real Estate Division acquired Railway Office Plaza and integrated it into their business. Roy retired from Aulick Leasing Corp. on May 31, 2014, after 18 years of service.

Over the years, Roy enjoyed collecting coins, stamps, and vintage toys including over 1,000 PEZ Candy Dispensers and related items sold in the U.S. from 1955 to the present.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Carol A. (Morris) Dugan; Sister, Connie (Nick) Stauffer of York, NE; Stepdaughters, Carrie Ann Morris of Scottsbluff, NE; Stepson, Shaun Morris of Sterling, CO; 6 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Luetta Dugan; His Grandparents; His first wife, Verna (Kelsey) Dugan; His beloved daughter, Brandi Shane Dugan; His stepdaughter, Bobbi Kroger; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Roy’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, a 1:00 P.M. at The Vine United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Collins officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
