Sandra Kay Cross, 64, took her final journey, February 9, 2019 at the Mitchell Care Center under hospice care. At her request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of life will be held in the spring.
Sandra was born April 8, 1954 to Jonathan Henry Cross and Dorothy Lucille McDaniel Cross. She grew up in Bayard and graduated from Bayard High School in 1972. Sandy went to work at Chimney Rock Villa, where for some 20 years she enjoyed caring for the residents and being a friend to all. She then moved to Gering where she worked at Region 1 and then at Walmart for several years.
The large extended family was always a joy to her as she loved family get-to gathers and was always there for the little ones. Her greatest joy was seeing little children as they shopped with their moms at Walmart.
She loved cooking, sharing that the more you mix the batter, the better the cake. She was a wealth of information about home remedies. And she proudly displayed her collection of black and white cows.
Sandra is survived by her sister, Shirley Rodgers & Joe Romero of Bayard; Nephews, Damon H Rodgers & Holly of Billings, Montana; Derek Rodgers of Gering; and Steven Rengler & Tamara of Scottsbluff. Nieces, Rebecca Elsasser of Bonner Springs, Kansas and Lisa Witt & Jason of Billings, Montana. Seven great nephews, and three great nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sally Rengler Acoren.
A memorial has been established at Festival of hope, P.O. Box 377, Scottsbluff. Online condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com
