Sharon Lee Fertig

Sharon Lee Fertig, 77, of Scottsbluff, formerly of Bayard, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Andy Griess officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday at Dugan-Kramer. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dugankramer.com Sharon was born June 1, 1941 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Paul Harry and Anna (Prester) Aulick. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School with the Class of 1959. Sharon was united in marriage to Richard Adam Fertig on February 19, 1961 at St. James Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff. The couple farmed north of Bayard for 47 years. Sharon stayed home and raised her children, entering the workforce in 1988. She operated the store at Moomaw Corner north of Bayard for over 10 years. She retired from Aurora Loan Services in September of 2008 after 10 years as working as a default reporter and as a quality assurance auditor. Sharon enjoyed cooking, especially bread baking, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and gardening in her younger years. Sharon is survived by her children Kathleen Marie Platt of Las Vegas, NV, Elizabeth Ann (Tony) Koncaba of Scottsbluff, Paul Richard (Kimberly) Fertig of Pacolet Mills, SC, Phillip Andrew (Sandy) Fertig of Thornton, CO, and Robert Allen (Amanda) Fertig of Scottsbluff; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, and one sister Susan Elias.
