Sophie Wallentine

Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 14, 2025, at The Rock Church, 3515 5th Ave, Scottsbluff, NE 6936. Cremation has already taken place.

She attended Owl Creek Grade School and went on to graduate from Morrill High School. After high school she attended Chadron State College and University of Lincoln, graduating from both. With her love of education, she went on to teach multiple language courses in Iowa.

She was a godly woman with a large collection of angels and dog figurines. Her kindness was warm and could be felt in her gentle words. She enjoyed visiting with people, reading her bible, and listening to Christian music. She was also a world traveler with unique experiences like meeting Mikhail Gorbachev.

She is survived by sisters Vera Applegate Morgan and Helen Seifert; sisters-in-law Carol Fedorchik and Rosemary Fedorchik; stepson Michael Dunn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded by her parents; husbands Jerry Wallentine and Donald Luchterhand; sister Olga Brandt; two infant sisters; brothers Henry and Bill; brothers-in-law Darold Brandt, Robert (Bob) Applegate, Jerry Seifert, Chuck Morgan; niece Diana Applegate Hall; nephew Elliott Morgan; great nephew Cody Bindschadler;
