Steven Brian Leeper

Steven was born on August 5, 1974, at Oshkosh, Nebraska to Budd and Lorene (Krajewski) Leeper. He was the youngest of the family. He lived his early life in Oshkosh until Budd and Lorene moved to Scottsbluff so he could attend the Child Development Center located there.

Steven enjoyed living with mom and dad, where he was loved, spoiled and cherished. Steven went to school, then transitioned to adult workshop education, all while being cared for and loved by mom and dad at home. At the age of 40, Steven’s life changed. Mom passed. Dad (being wheelchair-bound at the time) was unable to provide care for him. Steven soon began his life at Mitchell Care Center. The caretakers and residents took him in and he became part of their family. He lived there till his passing.

Steven loved hugs, food, country music, dancing, smiling and people. He was a loving soul. He was a good brother and we will miss him.

Steven is survived by his sister, Linda (Larry) Sherfey of Lewellen; brothers Dennis (Kim) Leeper of North Platte, Don (Stephanie) Leeper of Gering, Gary Leeper of Oshkosh, and Tim Leeper of Scottsbluff; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents Ed and Katherine Krajewski, William and Roxie Leeper; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousin Gerald.

We are grateful for all the people who taught, cared for and loved Steven in his life. A special thank you to the Mitchell Care Center.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 30 at 10:30 am at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be at 10:00 am at the chapel with visitation an hour prior to rosary. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at St Elizabeth’s Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.
