Thelma A. Bennett

Thelma A. Bennett, 95, of Gering, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Heritage Estates in Gering. Her funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Paul Hebbert officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. A memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Thelma was born January 13, 1914, at Grover, Colorado to Alvin and Grace (Pummel) Curtis. She attended West Pawnee School in Colorado. She married Marvin Bennett September 30, 1934 at Kimball. She worked for 14 years at St. Mary’s Hospital as Supervisor of the Medical Records Department. Thelma enjoyed flower gardening and was a member of the Lake Alice Happy Hour Club, 55 Club and Does. Survivors include her sons, Donald (Orienne) Bennett of Petaluma, California and Bob (Pat) Bennett of Gering; three grandsons, Todd (Nikki) Bennett, Corey Bennett and Barry Bennett; three great-grandchildren, Erin and Hayden Bennett and Tyler Bennett; brother, Lee; sisters, Zelda, Bernice, Marjorie and Elva. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, three brothers and two sisters.
