Thomas M. Tully, Jr.

Thomas M. Tully, Jr., 91 of Gering, Nebraska died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Northfield Villa Med Center. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Northfield Villa Chapel with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Memorials may be given to the Elk’s Scholarship Fund. Thomas was born on June 14, 1916 in Alliance, Nebraska, the son of Thomas M. Tully, Sr. and Anna (Davis) Tully. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1934. He entered the U.S. Navy on February 5, 1945 and was honorably discharged on February 21, 1946. He married Esther Hall in Scottsbluff and moved to Denver until 1950, then moved to Gering. Tom worked at Tom’s Sanitary Supply for 22 years retiring in January of 1980. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was a life member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1367 and the American Legion Post #36, and a member of the YMCA. Tom was a member of the VFW Post #1681 and Past Commander and a 30 year member of the Eagle Lodge. Survivors include his wife Esther Tully; daughter, Ann Eichorn (Gene) of Scottsbluff; granddaughters, Kathi Wegscheider (Brad) and Wendy Derhaag (Kevin); great grandchildren, Brandy Wegscheider, Brent Wegscheider, Matthew Derhaag, and Jeremy Derhaag; nieces and nephews, Rick & CeCe Tully of Farmington, NM, Beth Ann Coupens of Colorado Springs, CO, Sally Greenwalt of Lincoln, NE, Tom Bauman of Cheyenne, WY, Jerry Bauman of Jenks, OK, Jeff Cushing of Pine Bluffs, WY, Bill & Mary Cushing of Pine Bluffs, WY and Charles & Shirley Hall of Scottsbluff and numerous great nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Eleanor, parents, sisters, Frieda Bauman, Winifred Tully, and Anna Louis Coupens and granddaughter, Linda Eichorn.
