

Wally W. Wallesen, 80, of Angora, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. At his request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later time at the Angora Cemetery. Wally was born September 20, 1935 at Bayard, Nebraska to Howard S. and Florence May (Hill) Wallesen. He received his education, graduating from Bayard High School with the Class of 1953. Wally worked for the Sugar Factory in Bayard following high school and later worked for the Bill Shrewsbury Ranch at Ellsworth, Nebraska.
Wally was united in marriage to Mary Walker on August 31, 1958 at Bridgeport. The couple made their home in Bridgeport for a short time before moving to live at the bottom of Angora Hill and finally moving to Angora. Wally farmed all of his life as well as owned and operated the Angora Elevator for several years.
Wally was a member of the Alliance Christian Church, loved to team rope, and served as president of the Angora Cemetery District for several years.
Wally is survived by his wife Mary Wallesen of Angora; son and daughter-in-law Tye and Renee Wallesen of Angora; daughter and son-in-law Teri and Rob Francis of Alliance; grandchildren Cody (Mallory) Wallesen, Chance Wallesen, Charlee Wallesen, Ashlee Wallesen, Jake Wallesen, Chabree (Travis) Ohms, Brett (Sam) McCue, Kayla (Joel) Jacox, Dani Francis, and Dustin (Brittany) Kaufman; great-grandchildren Wyatt Wallesen, Noah and Ryker Ohms, Ashlynn and Harper McCue, and Hunter and Eric Kaufman; brother Bill (Sheryl) Wallesen of Dalton; and sister-in-law Donna Kirchhoff of Bridgeport.
Wally was preceded in death by his father Howard Wallesen, mother May Karnes, brothers Johnny and George, sister Paula Gordon, daughter Kim Goodenberger, two brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
