William H. Bill Bye

William H. ”Bill” Bye, 59, of rural Mitchell, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2008, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Michael Stein officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Bill was born June 23, 1949, at West Nebraska General Hospital in Scottsbluff to Shurban L. and Sylvia (Ward) Bye. He grew up and received his education in Mitchell. He married Betty Steeg on January 10, 1972, and had two children. He married Cheryl Nelson in 1987, and had three children. He worked as a farm laborer and a truck driver for Pappa’s Trucking. He is survived by his daughter Staci D. Bye (Celida Cortez) of Scottsbluff; sons William “Bill” Bye (Anna Escamilla) of Scottsbluff, Steven Garvin (Amber Garvin) of Scottsbluff, Scott P. Garvin (Sarah Holdt) of Lincoln and Bryon W. Garvin of Mitchell; grandsons Reid R. Bye of Scottsbluff and Stephan A. Garvin of Scottsbluff; longtime girlfriend of thirteen years Deborah Judd of Scottsbluff; sisters Rosella (Roy) Judd of Mitchell, Minnie (Jerry) Morris of Harrisburg, Claudia Nichols of Iowa, Valerie Browning of Wyoming; and brother James (Carolyne) Bye of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
