August Michael “Gus” Eberhardt, Born September 13, 1933, in New York City, New York and passed away September 30, 2026, in Grapevine, Texas. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Gloria Jane Eberhardt and parents, August and Gertrude Eberhardt. Survived by children August Steven Eberhardt and wife Deborah; Cheryle Gonzales and husband Santana; Susann Eberhardt, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A loving father first and foremost, after high school graduation, Gus served four years in the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he then had a 21-year career with the Dallas Police Department retiring Badge 1267 with the rank of Lieutenant. After retirement, Gus together with his wife Jane, were active and founding members of Divine Mercy of our Lord Catholic Church.
Family will receive friends from 4:30-7:00PM on Monday (October 5th) at Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1000 S. Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. Rosary will start at 6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM Tuesday at Divine Mercy of our Lord Catholic Church, 1585 E. Cartwright Road, Mesquite, TX 75149 with Fr. Ernie Torres officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville in the Garden of Valley View with reception for family and friends at Divine Mercy following Interment.
